Why are these classes special?
With over a decade of experience as an Occupational Therapist and through my work with children in a variety of settings these classes are designed to be developmentally appropriate both physically and cognitively. I have been providing yoga for children from 2 years old through high school age for over five years; at schools, in studios, and in private homes. These classes are created to provide the children with experiences that are fun and exciting as well as appropriate for their level of development. Inherent in each class is also enrichment for their age appropriate thinking skills. Bringing in concepts regarding counting, letter, numbers, and other skills that will support and improve what they are learning at daycare, pre-school, or school.
These classes are more than a typical kids yoga class. They combine the skills and experience of a highly trained clinician with over a decade of experience as a pediatric occupational therapist, a practitioner of Eastern Medicine, and a yoga teacher.

Yoga is great for Kids!
Some of the essential areas targeted when working with children are: strength and flexibility, improved attention and focus, increase in language and social skills, improved discipline and structure, reduction of stress, and enhanced learning and listening skills.
Yoga for kids needs to be structured differently from adult classes with developmentally appropriate expectations for motor skills, coordination skills, and cognitive development. This helps to ensure a successful and confidence-building experience.
