Ohm Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine

Traditional Chinese Medicine

Chinese Medicine is a 3000 year old tradition of healing that includes Acupuncture, Herbal remedies, Nutrition, Chinese massage, and more!  This Medical model does not diagnose nor treat dependent on a western medical diagnosis.  Chinese Medicine is individualized for each person. No two people are the same so why would their medicine be?

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) examines  each individual's physiologic, psychologic, and environmental conditions in order to create a comprehensive treatment strategy.   Due to the individualized and comprehensive nature of this medicine it is an extremely powerful mode of  healing AND health maintenance.

Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine can be an effective intervention for many common health problems both chronic and acute in nature. Some of the more common problems include but are not limited to:

    Pain

Stress Management

    Anxiety/Depression

    Gynocological Issues

    Sleep Difficulty

    Neurologic conditions

    Skin Problems

    Addictions

    Respiratory Conditions

    Digestion Difficulties

Om Acupuncture Mission Statement

The mission at Om Acupuncture is to treat the whole person and provide the highest quality of individualized care possible.  Traditional Chinese Medicine provides the framework for diagnosis and treatment of disharmony and dis-ease in the body.  This effective medicine allows for individualized treatment targeting the root of the pathology to alleviate pain and dysfunction.

Through Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, and lifestyle modifications, results can be extraordinary!

  • Acupuncture

Today, the needles that are used are extremely thin and each one is single use and disposable.  Needles are inserted at specific points along pathways called "meridians" to target the root of your pathology.

Does Acupuncture hurt? This is a question often asked.  The answer is: well, it may.  Acupuncture does require puncturing of the skin, and although the needles are extremely fine, there can be a brief sensation of pain. But this depends on the individual's pathology, constitution, and sensitivity and is generally rather mild.

  • Herbal Medicine

Herbs have been used for centuries in China and across the globe.  Herbs are natural and often are bark, berries, resins, or flowers that through thousands of years of use have been recognized by Chinese physicians for their healing properties.  They are most often taken in a formula which combines 4-12 herbs and can be tailored to meet your specific needs.
  • Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine for Children

Pediatric treatment is a specialized area. It requires that the clinician have an understanding of growth and development, as well as how to create an environment that feels safe and fun for the child.

Depending on age and disposition of the child, needles may or may not be used in session, and likely not in the initial visits.  Alternate and equally effective techniques can be used for intervention with children.  Children's developing physiology often requires less invasive and intensive intervention and often resolution of pathology happens more rapidly with kids.  Herbal medicine is modified and dosages are typically much smaller for children.  Pediatric massage is also and effective intervention that parents can be educated in for carryover into the home environment.
